How to Change your Avatar
Using Properties | Seeing Your Avatar

Tired of that blue dummy avatar? Want to change your image in a flash? Here's how to body swap whenever the mood hits you.

Using the Options Tab:
Find the panel below which is located beside the chat window.


  • Scroll to the "Options" button..
  • Click the "Options" button to reveal your lists of options.
  • Click the "Avatar Library" and a alert window will appear asking, "Do you want to load the avatar library?" Select "Okay.

The list of Avatar Libraries will load in the chat window. If you wish to see additional Avatar Libraries or web sites offering free avatars then follow the link on the left panel for Starshyne's VRML Links.

Using Properties when you are in 3D:


  • Find your name in the people list, right click and select Properties, or double click your name. There you will see the URL of the current avatar you are using.
  • Replace that URL with the one you want to use and click OK.
Remember - be cool about this and don't try to load giant avatars.

Now you are in 3D, you will probably want to see what your cool avatar looks like. Here's how to do that:
Select View my Avatar
You will notice that after you have selected "View my Avatar" your view, by right clicking the world window, that you are now looking at the back of your avatar.

To go back to the the usual POV, just go back and select "View my Avatar" again to uncheck it.
