We do not have to rely
upon memories
to recapture the spirit
of those we have loved and lost -
they live within our souls
in some perfect sanctuary
which even death
cannot destroy -

of Nanushka - Volumes VII-XII"

The woman, the artist, mother, loved one, has departed our circle to follow her true endeavors, and she will be missed, but always remembered. May she continue her love of art within the Summerland.
After a rather discomforting battle with lung cancer and other lung problems, Jackie passed away from this planet of ours in her sleep in the company of her long time (20+ years) boyfriend Dave Locke on May 15, 1998.
Jackie spent many of her years on this earth looking through the eyes of an artist. She excelled in several different mediums to bring out what she caught within her artistic eye. I learned most of my access to my artistic eye from my mom, for which I will always be grateful. My hope is that the folks who own her work treasure them for what they are, pieces of artwork done with love. She was known throughout the science fiction fannish world as an accomplished artist as well as a fanzine writer and editor. To me as well but I will also remember her love of cooking, plants, movies, music, and her research into just about every subject there is. It was her persistence in research that got me involved in doing the same thing.
