Like an Empty Canvas
starbar

I mold and shape it with my mind
With my fingers I bring it out into the light
Tears of sorrow, tears of joy
Letting others see without life's daily grind

The woman wonders why you're feeling
The man wonders how you found it
Wonderment and aggravation intertwined into one
I wonder where would we be without it's healing

Rising and falling like a breath
Our imagination follows our minds
Our hearts persuade it like a drum
Doing what we can to prolong its death

Burning, glowing, or was it slowing down
Bringing our imaginations into the light
Allowing our inner selves to soar
Anything to beat out the frown

Bring forward the light of dawn
With his ever present smile
She wraps it around her
So her children can once again smile
Dancing around in her blanket of green lawn
With hearts uplifted
Our imaginations unchained
Like an empty canvas
Forever gifted
